Baguio - Cabugas Wedding

Hey, everyone, just an update. I stopped blogging last year because I didn't feel comfortable putting everyone's wedding days on the internet :) But btw, those couples gave me permission anyway. But since this site shows up when you search "Wedding Cake Dipolog" for 5 terms in the top 10 on google, it would be a big waste to take it down. But we still serve wedding cakes. Please head over to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Couples-Cakehaus-and-Pasalubong-Dipolog/187747184571203 or www.couplescake.co.cc for pictures. We regularly check the FB page and also couplescake@yahoo.com. Or call us at (065)212-2099 or 908-2582. Thanks for your interest in getting married here in Dipolog City, and we wish you a happy marriage.
This is a new cake for me, a three tier fondant cake. One-hundred-percent super-moist chocolate cake, three layers of pure chocolate goodness.
The base of this cake is a 16 by 6in circle, over which is a 12 by 4in circle with a 6 by 3in circle upon which the bride and groom is placed. Believe me, this cake is really heavy, the bottom layer alone strained my back, I think it weighed 10-15kilos, that's just how dense the chocolate cake is. This cake was decorated/assembled starting 5:00 AM, and then delivered 2:00 PM.

This is me with Karl Baguio and Jo Ann Cabuguas - Baguio after the reception.
The reception was a blast! It was a windless, cool night up on Mt. Sinai, scarcely a breeze disturbed the drapes. The reception began with an acknowledgement of the principal sponsors for the wedding, with notables such as the Governor of Zamboanga del Norte, Rolando E. Yebes, Atty. Helen A. Angeles, (which wasn’t the first time she had encountered our cakes, but that's another story), and others. After a number of verbose speeches, it was time to eat!
Kasal sarap, indi kunti,
Pagkain dyan sari-sari,
Lechon baboy, apat malutong,
Lechong baka, bawal ang gutom!
Fried chicken, meatballs, pansit at beefsteak,
Coke't kanin, completo ang take!
(I may have forgotten one or two dishes)
The toasting for the sponsors involved several fine wines, and the wine for the bride and groom was a martini.
A live acoustic band provided for Quines Studio played for the wedding, a few modern love songs and they also played for the ballroom dancing after the reception.
Ambibo.com provided the photography and video coverage.
I really enjoyed the whole reception, and enjoyed slicing and serving the cake to an appreciative crowd. Karl and Jo Anne were very appreciative and made serving them a pleasantry.
Karl Baguio in a text message the day after the wedding: "Hi mam! Ü nag enjoy jud amng guest last nyt sa kalami sa cake. Thank u!"
